So far I've found the achievement to be time consuming, but not challenging. With regards to the stages themselves, wherever possible just charge straight for the enemy main camp and take down the commander. It helps if you have a fast horse although Red Hare isn't necessary, it's speed and ability to charge through infinite enemies without stopping is very helpful (Red Hare is unlocked after completing 90 consecutive battles in Ambition Mode). I also have equipped the skills that boost: attack, defense, attack power against officers, and the rage meter booster. I used the Ambition Mode's Academy (rank 50) to boost Lu Bu's level, attack and defense stats all the way to the top.

You can unlock Lu Bu by completing the Xia Pi battle during the Wei campaign, and then completing Lu Bu's story campaign. I'm currently going through the stages with a level 99 Lu Bu, with his 5 star weapon (which I believe has the highest attack stats of any weapon) and another halberd (a second weapon isn't really needed). This is another achievement that should really only be properly attempted after completing the majority of the other achievements. I think preparation and patience is the key to this achievement.
